# ChatGPT (beta)

> Connect MMW to ChatGPT as an OAuth connector in developer mode. Supported in beta.

On this page you will connect MMW to ChatGPT through developer mode and an OAuth connector, and learn what to expect from the beta.

ChatGPT is supported in beta. The MMW server implements the required OAuth sign-in, but we have not yet tested the full flow from a real ChatGPT account ourselves. Menu names in ChatGPT may differ from the ones described here. If something does not work, write to support@mmwhub.tech; it helps us bring support to a stable state.

## What you get

- The `remember`, `search`, `forget`, `validate_memory` and `gateway_call` tools in ChatGPT.
- The same memory your Claude, Cursor and Codex see with a key from the same account and project.

The local agent is not used with ChatGPT, so there is no `mmw_sync_status` and no session history upload here.

## Prerequisites

- An MMW account: email and password, or an API key (starts with `mmw_`).
- A ChatGPT account with developer mode available. Availability depends on your ChatGPT plan; check OpenAI's help.

## Setup

1. In ChatGPT open Settings, go to the apps and connectors section, and turn on developer mode in the advanced settings.

2. Create a new connector. Enter a name such as `MMW` and the server URL:

   ```text

   ```

   Choose OAuth as the authentication method.

3. ChatGPT opens the MMW consent page.

4. Sign in with your MMW email and password (or paste your API key) and approve access.

5. In a new conversation enable the MMW connector in developer mode.

## Verify

1. The connector settings should list `remember`, `search`, `forget`, `validate_memory` and `gateway_call`.

2. Ask:

   ```text
   Remember in MMW: staging is deployed with the systemd unit app-staging. Fact key: deploy-staging.
   ```

   ChatGPT may ask you to confirm the `remember` call, since the tool changes data. Once confirmed, the record is saved with the `unverified` status.

3. In a new conversation ask:

   ```text
   How do we deploy staging? Check MMW.
   ```

   Expected answer: ChatGPT calls `search` and replies that staging is deployed with `app-staging`.

4. The record also appears in your MMW account under Knowledge base.

## Common problems

Developer mode is not available on every ChatGPT plan, and an admin may disable it in workspace accounts. Without it you cannot add your own MCP server. Use [claude.ai](/clients/claude-web/) or a desktop client instead.

Your email must be confirmed through the link we sent. If password sign-in fails, try your API key.

Ask explicitly: "Check MMW" or "Remember in MMW". That works more reliably than waiting for the model to decide to use memory.
